Recently, I have failed a number of online security check points...and even when I pass, I struggle and consider it luck. As computers get better and better at reading cryptic text, we will have to face harder and more wavy textured grainy and basically, unreadable weirdness. Tell me though, is this not a little ridiculous...what sane, and at least average human can read those letters? Can you??
Just so you know: the guy who invented this little interaction (CAPTCHA) that kills my eye-to-mind bridge is amazing and a professor at CMU. His name is Luis von Ahn and I wrote a little somethin about him once. Bottom line is...I don't like to struggle when I'm about to lay down 200 bucks worth of show tickets.
