went to the de Young museum's post impressionism exhibit which featured the work of van gogh, cezanne, sauguin, seraut, renoir and others.
it was the first time i experienced a piece of art that moved me to almost tears, it was so beautiful. and i've seen a ton of van gogh live (via the van gogh museum in amsterdam, and at various other art stops in europe) and i've always loved his stuff, being able to see the brush strokes thick and portruding, but none like this. None as raw and electric as this. i felt like, looking at it, i was looking straight into van gogh's soul.
if you live in the bay area and haven't already seen it, go. it will be around until January 18.
