Hi! I'm Justine
I bring stories to life, and people together. Let's build understanding, get to the why, or die trying.
I am full of fire, butterflies, joy, and heartache about uncovering, producing, and promoting stories that have the power to move people like so many stories have moved me. Sometimes it's as simple as reminding me to be kinder to myself and to other people, other times, it's motivated me to pursue an idea or cause that needs attention.
Stories are my life, and my livelihood. From 9 to 5, I work on the marketing team at frog, a global design and strategy firm, where I write and curate stories of our best work, culture, and many diverse perspectives.
Outside my day job, I produce audio stories, most recently for KALW, SF's oldest local public radio station, and before that, Apex Express, a weekly magazine-style radio show featuring stories of Asians and Asian Americans. I love audio as a medium for stories, it's perfectly intimate, and has stretched how I observe the world.
A day after the election, I co-created Make America Dinner Again, a dinner series that brings together people with different political viewpoints to build understanding; in the past year, we've organized more than 25 dinners in a dozen cities. Our dinners have been covered by national and international media outlets including NPR, BBC, and Mother Jones, reaching Americans in all 50 states and folks in more than 20 countries. Leading what has become a national movement is an incredibly rewarding and rich learning experience; I've shared some of my learnings on Medium.
Any of this sound interesting to you? Want to work together or just say hey? justineraelee[at]gmail.com.
