I am full of fire, butterflies, joy, and heartache about uncovering, producing, and promoting stories that have the power to move people like so many stories have moved me. Sometimes it's as simple as reminding me to be kinder to myself and to other people, other times, it's motivated me to pursue an idea or cause I'd forgetten about.
Stories are my life, and my livelihood. From 9 to 5, I work on the marketing team at frog, a global design and strategy firm, where I write and curate stories of our best work, culture, and many diverse perspectives.
Outside my day job, I produce audio stories, most recently for KALW, SF's oldest local public radio station, and before that, Apex Express, a weekly magazine-style radio show featuring stories of Asians and Asian Americans. I love audio as a medium for stories, it's perfectly intimate, and has stretched how I observe the world.
Sometimes I host small dinners, bringing people together to talk about uncomfortable, sometimes contentious, and often very personal matters like death or the future of America, most recently through a series I co-created called Make America Dinner Again. The goal is to build understanding among people who might not ordinarily meet.
While you're here, check out some of my audio stories and photography. For what's on my mind, read my blog. Want to work together or just say hey: justineraelee[at]gmail.com. I will reply or bookmark to reply, promise.
